anything I can do as an alternative to the barre chords? classical guitar, it's quite a fatty
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I'm not sure I know an easier way to do this aside from barre chords. My only suggestion would be to look online to find alternate fingerings for chords. You might find something that works better for you.
ReplyDeleteSorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck!
This is my version of the chords. I figured it out for piano so the sounding of the chords is different and that's why I chose these, but its just my interpretation.

The placement of the chords got messed up, and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about that, so I guess that'll be up to you to figure out where they go. Hehehehe... but actually, sorry about the messed up placement of the chords.
@Just Another Brony
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. It sounds great! If you like, I can give your chords their own page on the website. Of course, you would be given full credit and attribution for your work. What do you think?
Sure, sounds great! Thanks a bunch.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I noticed that there is a bass tab for this that is just the melody to the song in tab form (which isn't to say that it's bad, it's very well done). I have the actual baseline from the song, with a bit of a swing feel to it like the song gives, which I can post if you'd like, but I wouldn't know how to get it on here other than in tab form (which I am bad with and it wouldn't capture the feel very well). Any suggestions for uploading it, if you do want it?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I would love to see (and play) the bass tab! Send it to me in an email, and I'll post the tab on the site. Here is the address: everyponysings[at]gmail[dot]com.
ReplyDeleteShould I attribute the chords and the tabs to Just Another Brony? I want to make sure to give you credit for your work. Thanks!
Sure that works for me, Thanks! And what would you recommend for writing out the score? I have MuseScore and Mario Paint Composer (lol), but do you know of any other good scoring programs?
ReplyDeleteCool, just shoot me an email when it's convenient for you.
ReplyDeleteTuxGuitar is a good (and free) program. As the name suggests, I think it works best if you're writing music for guitar or other fretted instruments. The program I use most, however, is Finale. It is incredibly versatile, but a nice version of it is extremely expensive. I have also heard nice things about MuseScore, but I haven't spent much time with it.
Do you want me to post your chords up now, or should I wait and post them at the same time as the tabs?
You could go ahead and post 'em separately. I'm still finishing up the bass part. I wrote it out in MuseScore so it's not really a tab, but I could put it into a tab if you'd prefer, I just wanted to get the rhythms, and the swing feel, which is hard to do with a tab. I'll send you the MuseScore file tomorrow when I'm all done either way.
ReplyDeleteSounds good. There is absolutely no rush on the bass music, but I'd love to post it when you're done. Any format is fine.
